Shari Bower
Shari Bower retired from corporate management in 2015 and now enjoys driving her granddaughters to school each morning, attending Life Group Bible studies with her friends, and leading a ladies’ Bible study twice a month in her home. She is also a member of Awakening Creativy, a ladies Writing Group that meets each month. Since retiring, Shari has taken several classes from Writer’s Workshop Dallas in order to hone her skills in writing. She began writing poetry in the courtroom in 1984 after her husband, Les, of almost sixteen years was arrested for a crime he didn’t commit. The poems eventually made their way into her memoir when their 32-year battle to try to win Les’s exoneration and release ended in his execution. Shari enjoys reading, writing, painting, and binge-watching Hallmark, historical movies and sadly to say, crime series on Netflix. A widow since 2015, she has two grown daughters, Leslea and Hollie, four grandchildren, Nathan, Bailey, Katie and Lacey, and one great-granddaughter, Skye. She lives in Arlington, Texas, with her two cats, Bandit and Cali who she rescued as kittens from a flood in her backyard in 2015. Shari is the author of Before They Executed Him: A Wife’s Story of Death Row.
