Good Intentions

Good intentions do not equal obedience.  How long have you been “intending” to do something.  Procrastination can be dec when we believe that our intentions are good enough.  God deals with us in the practical stuff, not just the spiritual and fortunately He has empowered us with His Spirit to do the hard things as well.  That includes putting our good intentions into actions instead of merely lofty plans.  We must know the truth, find the truth and live the truth as our minds are continually battling the enemy.  Do we recognize the truth or do we walk away and not remember the inspiration that was God speaking to us?  When the picture becomes a little cloudy, stop for a minute and say, Lord, remind me of your truth.  And let God’s love be my inspiration for obedience.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.  James 1:22-24
